Established in 1954 as an offshoot of Hanaharu Shuzo in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima, this brewery produced local sake under the Miyaizumi brand for many years. Soon after the current head came to the brewery, the brewer of "Sharaku," Higashiyama Shuzo, went out of business, and since 2005 Miyaizumi Meijo has taken over the brand. This is a next-generation sake that its young brewer created after being inspired by Fukushima's renowned "Hiroki" sake brand.
A limited special edition planned to distribute during the Tokyo Olympic game, unfortunately due to COVID-19, the game has been postponed and eventually this special sake has been released to the market.
